On Thursday June 27 at 7 p.m., Hope Library’s Hope Works and Friends Series continues wth “Drink Your Vinegar: Ancient and Modern-Day Uses of Apple Cider Vinegar,” a presentation by Bob Sewall and Mia Mantello of Sewall Organic Orchard in Lincolnville.
This event is free and open to the public Donations to the library will be gratefully accepted.
Sewall and Mantello will explain how apple cider vinegar (ACV) is made and speak about the many uses for vinegar in cooking; in hot sauces; and in drinkable forms like fire cider, shrub, and switchel. They will also discuss the reputed health benefits of ACV.
There will be aged vinegar to sample and vinegar for sale.
Bob Sewall is a long-time organic apple grower and former president of Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners. Sewall’s cold-aged vinegar is used in fine restaurants including Fore Street in Portland, Primo in Owl’s Head, and Nina June in Rockport.
